When the bottom of ceramic tableware is worn out, you can try the following methods to solve the problem:
Mild wear treatment
Stainless steel cleaning paste for light grinding: Stainless steel cleaning paste can perform light grinding on wear marks. Although it cannot completely remove the wear marks, it can significantly reduce the wear. When in use, apply the cleaning paste to the worn area, gently wipe with a soft cloth, and then rinse thoroughly with clean water. However, the effect of this method varies from person to person.
Deep wear repair
Professional ceramic repair: If the wear is relatively severe, professional ceramic repair can be considered. The repair process generally includes steps such as cleaning the damaged area, filling with repair mud, grinding smooth, and spraying repair glaze. Tools and materials such as ceramic repair mud, ceramic repair glaze, air pumps, spray pens and sandpaper are needed. For instance, first clean and dry the area that needs to be repaired. Take an appropriate amount of ceramic repair mud and mix it evenly in proportion. Fill it in the worn area. After the mud is completely cured, sand it smooth with sandpaper. Then, mix the ceramic repair glaze in proportion and mix it to achieve the same color. Spray it evenly on the repaired area with a spray pen. After drying in the sun, put it in the oven to bake.
Daily use protection
Using a tableware pad: Placing a tableware pad at the bottom of ceramic tableware can reduce the direct friction between the tableware and the tabletop or other objects, thereby lowering the degree of wear and tear. Tableware pads can be made of materials such as silicone and rubber, which are not only soft but also provide good cushioning.
Avoid scratches from metal tableware: When using ceramic tableware, try to avoid direct scratches from the bottom of the tableware by metal tableware. For example, use wooden, plastic or silicone tableware to stir food to reduce damage to the ceramic glaze surface.
Choose the appropriate cleaning method: If using a dishwasher for cleaning, select a program suitable for the "Crystal Bright Wash" mode. This mode has less vibration and is less likely to damage the porcelain. If washing by hand, avoid using hard cleaning tools such as steel wool balls to prevent scratching the bottom of the tableware.
